Muguruza doble premio: Victoria en semis ante Caroline García y a la final en Doha tras la lesión de Halep

    Doble premio para Garbiñe Muguruza, la tenista española que tras derrotar en Cuartos de Final a la francesa, Caroline García, verdugo de Cibulkova y de Bittova, por (3-6), (6-1) y (6-4), la lesión de Simona Halep, actual número 2 del mundo y rival en semifinales de Garbiñe, permite a la tenista española alcanzar su primera final de un torneo en este 2018, en concreto, el WTA Premier 5 de Doha (Qatar) y de paso, tener un día más de descanso que el resto de integrantes del torneo ( la danesa Wozniacki, actual número 1 del mundo y la ganadora del duelo entre Goerges y Kvitova). 

    Halep que recordemos término la final del primer Grand Slam del año, el Open de Australia, en el hospital por deshidratación, sufre un nuevo contratiempo, esta vez en Doha y por lesión en un pie que le impiden seguir en el torneo, un torneo en el que había alcanzado las semifinales del mismo tras derrotar en Cuartos de Final a la estadounidense, Catherine Bellis por (6-0) y (6-4). 

  Para Garbiñe, dicha final será la número nueve de su carrera y perseguirá el sexto título. Recordemos que en 2017 logró ganar en Wimbledon ( Grand Slam, segundo de su carrera tras ganar Roland Garros 2016) y Cincinnatti.

         It could not be!!, Dominika Cibulkova said goodbye to Doha yesterday after falling defeated, in a brilliant game, yes, three sets against the French Caroline Garcia, a very close match in the first two sets (6-3), (6-7)(3), who could close the gala with (5-3) in the second set and serve for the French but to which Cibulkova reacted by winning three consecutive games and forcing the second set to a " Tie Break" where th Bratislava tennis player was superior and won in said "sudden death" by (3-7). 

       However, the wear of CIbulkova allowed the current number 8 in the world to win with great ease the third set for a resounding and unfair (6-0). 

         And it is that both Domi and Caroline gave us an exciting encounter, two players who came to Doha with a tie at 1 in their face to face ( head to head) having won Cibulkova in Madrid 2016, in clay while Caroline won in Wuhan 2017 hard surface. 

         Caroline García passes eighth in Qatar after defeating Cibulkova. Stronger physically, Caroline García managed to break Cibulkova´s service in the first set twice (3-1) and (5-3) to score the first set by (6-3). 

           In the second set, up to three break breaks achieved by the French for two of Cibulkova put García with a foot and a half in the third round (5-3 and serve for the French). However, the drive the heart and the desire of our Slovak tennis player were decisive to send the crash to the Tie Break thanks to a new break in García´s service achieving, as we have said before, winning. 

           

        

         

Domi se despide de Doha en un brillante partido ante la francesa Caroline García

       ¡¡No pudo ser!!, Dominika Cibulkova se despidió ayer de Doha tras caer derrotada, en un brillante partido, eso sí,  a tres sets ante la francesa Caroline García, un partido muy igualado en los dos primeros sets (6-3), (6-7)(3) que pudo cerrar la gala con (5-3) en el segundo set y saque para la francesa pero a lo que Cibulkova reaccionó logrando tres juegos consecutivos y forzando el segundo set a un "Tie Break" donde la tenista de Bratislava fue superior y se impuso en dicha "muerte súbita" por (3-7). 

       Sin embargo, el desgaste de Cibulkova permitió a la actual número 8 del mundo ganar con gran facilidad la tercera manga por un rotundo e injusto (6-0). 

    Y es que tanto Domi como Caroline nos regalaron un apasionante encuentro, dos jugadores que llegaban a Doha con un empate a 1 en sus cara a cara (head a head) habiendo ganado Cibulkova en Madrid 2016, en arcilla mientras que Caroline ganó en Wuhan 2017 sobre superficie dura. 

     Más fuerte físicamente, Caroline García logró romper el servicio de Cibulkova en la primera manga en dos ocasiones (3-1) y (5-3) para anotarse el primer set por (6-3). 

     En el segundo set, hasta tres roturas de break logradas por la francesa por dos de Cibulkova pusieron a García con pie y medio en la tercera ronda (5-3 y saque para la francesa). Sin embargo, el empuje, el corazón y las ganas de nuestra tenista eslovaca fueron determinantes para mandar el choque al Tie Break gracias a una nueva rotura del servicio de García logrando como hemos comentado anteriormente, ganar dicho Tie Break por 3-7. 

    Lógicamente, el comentado desgaste de Domi le pasó factura en el tercer set algo que aprovechó García para cerrar el partido, acceder a la tercera ronda del Premier 5 de Doha y dominar los head a head con Cibulkova (2-1 ahora para la tenista francesa).
